Humans (Homo Sapiens) are a species from the planet Earth, also known as Herte. They are the most advanced species in the system.
Humans evolved from the Australopithecus species about 4 to 2 milion years ago. Some of the closest living related species to Humans are Chimapnzees and Gorillas, diverged 10 and 7 million years ago respectively. In the years -4000 to -3500, humans first formed a society, which later evolved to make humans the dominant species of the planet and feared apex predators. After the industrial revolution of 1796, Humans began overthrowing the laws of nature, which lead to change of climate and temperature. Fortunately, in the 20th-21st centuries Humans began colonizing other planets and healing theirs. In the 25-26th centuries, the planets Venus and Mars were terraformed - made habitable for all Herte life. Other objects, such as Herte's satellite, Mercury and Titan were made habitable only for certain species. The Third Millenium was an era of newly-discovered alien civilizations. The new scientific discoveries also boosted the lifespan of the species to 140 years.
Humans without genetic modifications are highly-intelligent mammal primates with an opposable thumb on each the anterior limbs, called "arms". They have front-facing eyes to see forward and a low-pitched hearing, ranged from 20 to 20,000 Hertz. Unlike most mammals, the smelling ability of a Human is very weak, since this sense is no longer essential for survival. Humans are the best distance runners on the planet, even though their average speed is lower than that of most animals. A Human's lifting strength is comparable to other animals of their size, while their striking strength is notably lower.
The human species has two genders: male and female. Most males are attracted to females, and vice-versa, however some individuals feel an attraction to the same gender or to both. To reproduce (as most mammals do), a Human male must insert his genetic material inside a Human female, inside of whom the newly-created Human will spend nine Herte months. After the time has passed and the Human is ready to live without constant support of the mother Human's body, it gets expelled from it, by being born. He or she then will mature in 16-20 years.
Variable genetic traits
Human reproduction creates biodiversity, which makes possible for individual specimen to be unique. The genetic compound of a Human is determined by a mixture of his parents' DNA. Dominant genes are more common than recessive genes, which are therefore rarer. Some variable traits may be face and body shape, skin color, hair color, eye color and personality traits.
Humans have diverse languages due to their variating cultures, and one colony might have up to 200 languages (if not more), them evolving from a common linguistic ancestor. The progress of Human memory has allowed many of them to learn multiple languages, some being able to speak dozens of languages fluently, and the average Human being able to speak 7 to 8 languages.
